Question on Armor

By Koz, in Runebound

The rules state that you can't have more than one Armor item, but does that count for all armor items? I can't have an Armor: Shield and an Armor: Gauntlet at the same time? That doesn't make a lot of sense if so. If you can't have more than one type of armor, then why do they have all of the sub-traits on armor items (like Helm, Mail, Shield, etc)? Why not just call them all "Armor" and avoid any confusion?

There is an ally in one of the expansions which allows you to use multiple armor types (can't recall which ally or expansion right now). This is moot for us anyway, because we allow two types of armor to be used by the hero as long as they aren't the same class.

Yeah, only one armor of any type. I'm sure it was a game balance decision. Still, even limiting armor to one of each type has never seemed game breaking in my experience. My characters rarely get more than 2 pieces of armor that way; armor just isn't that common or inexpensive. However, I do like the idea of limiting it to two piecies of armor of different types. It's a good compromise.

its a balancing rule. i mean if you could have more (like a helm, armour and gloves) i would get the shield of light and a chainmail and the gauntlets i can cancel 5 wounds then would be very hard for an creature to kill me.
