Future supplements: Getting the Actions cards/Talents in the book too

By D4M0CLES, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Our gaming group talked about it recently.

We do think the new Hardcover format will be awesome for character creation. We do like to get all our options in a single spot, especially when the card bloat will become high. So you think FFG will provide a table listing of all cards in their future expansion, granting us both the stats on cards and book format??

We also think that a WFRP binder could be sold, with all the tables on free pages or detachable booklet could be awesome for regrouping table.

What do you think?

Even though it has been said elsewhere that this is a "one time" hardcover edition - I have a hard time believing that they would start down this road and not follow up on it.

Like it or not, they are going to have to carry forward with both versions of the game or merge them somehow.

I would happily pay a few dollars more per product to have both the cards AND the reference pages for those cards included.

Likewise, I can't see FFG starting down this road and not following it. They may need to see how these sell to consider the viability of doing so. Yearly 'annuals' like these may be the option, but I'll put my vote for having both formats in each product. Pleeeease!

I think that the future expansions for WFRP will future both. In the box we will be getting action cards and talents and a book the stats, talents and action cards listed in it.

Ok, and the hardcovers are just a "one time". The format of publishing WFRP is not going to change. So the Witch's Song, Omens Of War, Black Fire Pass and all the future product will still be in boxes - and that's good news! Becouse I think that the boxes are a lot better - You're always getting all what You need in them.

PS. Jay Little durnig the Small But Vicious Seminar 2010 said that there will be no changes in the for of publishing WFRP supplements. And in the future all products will still be in boxes just like it was from the beggining of the 3rd edition. And I think He will keep His word! happy.gif

Some sort of storage/filing solution would be great - however, FFG don't have a great legacy in this regard. They have several games with SO MANY bits/cards/boards/characters/miniatures that are crying out for some sort of storage solution and they haven't bothered, I doubt they will with this. For the record, Arkham Horror and Descent sprint instantly to mind...

I think its a brilliant way of bringing the unbelievers ^^ into the fold, they will buy the book and then see with the next expansions just how much the card and chits bring to the game. You have to remember that they are not just information on the table in front of you they are also feeling and style, the game feels more immersive because its tactile and visually inclusive, there is always imagery that leads you to the world.
