I finally got my friends hooked on BSG and so far they have only watched the the mini-series. I want to bring the game over when we visit them at Christmas. I figure they'll have seen a 2 or 3 episodes of the first season at the point. Is there anything in the game that would spoil plot points in upcoming episodes?

Some of the pictures on the You Are a Cylon card (particularily the Send a Character to Sickbay) might be considered spoilers. If they have seen the mini series, they know that Boomer is a cylon. I can'tnecessarily think of anything that gives away a major plot point off the top of my head.

Much of Pegasus is spoiler-tastic.

After thinking about it for a bit... there are a few really small ones, such as:

Saul Tigh's OPG "Declare Martial Law", Tom Zarek as a Political Leader and... mostly some quotes on some of the Crisis Cards and a few pictures. But really, nothing big... now if you were to play with Pegasus, that is a whole new ball game xD. That thing has spoilers flying all over the board game, but it is completely unavoidable (:

The base game has few spoilers in it; most of the stuff doesn't really matter, or is so early it's a bag of 'who cares'. There's still the odd significant spoiler, like certain crisis cards (The one that the humans like to see which adds one distance with the initials "L.D.", name withheld because of... spoilers). The pegasus expansion brings the spoilers, but when it was printed I think the series had been close to finished.

If I recall, the first game won't spoil much beyond the "You are a cylon" card already mentioned. Any other little things it does should be from the first season, and are very minor and you'd have to be looking for it. Some of the character abilities hint at things that happen, but I think that the latest one happens in the first few episodes of the second season. It's also not very blatant until you've seen it happen in the show. Pegasus spoilers are all going to be from Season Two developments I think, and there are plenty to be found. The newest expansion looks like it will have a ton of them, and some are all the way up to the season three finale.
