Hello, first of all I would like to make clear that I am a fun of lord of the rings and I love the fact that we will be able to play a new card game developed by FFG.
But there is one thing about this game that makes me worry. If this game was a board game I could understand how the cooperation between players could work, but this is a living card game. Let me make myself clear, in ccg(and lliving card games) players always try to make their decks better. For example if you usually play with a friend and you usually lose you have the motive of changing and optimizing your deck. Then at the point that you start to win, your friend will also perform changes at his decks in order to make them better. In ccgs one part of the fun is making your deck and the second one is playing with it.
Now a cooperative board game has a meaning since the deck equivalent part is fixed (you can only choose your faction/character for example but not design a new one from different parts, like the cards of the ccg) and you can try different strategies (which is equivalent to playing with your deck).
But now I see the first cooperative card game and it is something completely new to what I am used to. So my question is what is your motive in this game to improve your deck if you are not playing against someone that is also improving? This in not an attack against the concept of the game, I just try to get feedback from the ones who tried it, since I am sure that there is something more that it is not clear in these abstract descriptions of the game on the site.
