Eastwatch-by-the-Sea vs. Infamy (Edit: Solved, I think)

By Saturnine, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

When you claim power or move power to your House, you may place it on any card with the “Infamy” keyword instead of placing it on your House.

Is there any reason why one couldn't use Infamy to negate the effect of Eastwatch-by-the-Sea?

Edit: Nevermind, I think I found the answer in another thread. Infamy only works when the player himself is moving the power, not when an opponent moves their power. New related question: Could I use Eastwatch to move power from one of my Infamy characters to another of my Infamy cards?

And yes. If you use an effect to move power from a character to your House card, Infamy would kick in and you would have to option to put the power on one of your cards with Infamy instead of on your House card.

Keep in mind that Infamy says you "may" place the power on the card with Infamy. You are free to let the power go to your House card. This is a little different from the "Brotherhood Without Banners" agenda where you "must" put the moved power on a Brotherhood character.

Thank you for the reply. And yes, I realize Infamy's effect is optional, but thanks for the reminder. :)

(I figured you did. I mentioned it more to point out the general difference between Infamy and the Brotherhood agenda than anything else. I'm essentially answering questions no one asked.)

As long as you answer the questions that were asked I don't mind ;)
