AE encounters and gates opening

By Musha Shukou, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

So, I need a reminder...

If a gate ever opens on you, whether via mythos or encounter, you are drawn through it and are delayed. However, if, as a result of an encounter, you are drawn through a gate and delayed, do you still have an Other World Encounter that same turn? If so, doesn't this result in you having 2 encounters in the same space?

When a Gate opens upon an Investigator, whether by the Encounter or Mythos card, the Investigator is Delayed. With an Encounter-based Gate opening, the Investigator shall have an Other World Encounter in the 1st Area while Delayed and another Other World Encounter in the 1st Area during the next turn when the player stands-up the Investigator token. On the turn following, the Investigator moves to the 2nd Area for another (this makes three) Other World Encounter.

When a Gate opens as part of the Mythos phase, the Investigator is only "temporarily' Delayed...why...because the Mythos Phase is the Last Phase for the Turn. Thus, the player shall stand-up the Investigator token during the next turn (Movement Phase), well before the Other World Phase. Thus, in this scenarion, the Investigator shall normally experience only two Other World Encounters.
