Had a bit of a strange incident last night. One character drew the Howl of the Wendigo card (event that states that the next time a character lands on another character, they may not encounter the space, only the character, and it must be a combat, and the winner must take a life). Another character playing the Gypsy decided to not have the event affect her. Later in the game, while the Howl of the Wendigo was still in play, the Gypsy was turned into a Toad. She then was forced to hop one space into a space with another character. Here's the question: When does the event come into play for purposes of the Gypsy? Is it when it was drawn? Or is it when her character lands on another character. I ask, because as the Toad, which completely replaces the Gypsy's character card, she technically has no access to her Gyspy abilities. So did the event not affect her when it was drawn and thus doesn't affect her ever? Or was she forced to fight the character she landed on while toad'd?

This is interesting. I think the Gypsy may decide to be affected by an Event at any time, until the Event is in play. For example, she may decide to roll the die during the Blizzard in the first turn, but in the second she decides to move one space only because it's convenient for her.
A Toad has no abilities, it is not the Gypsy anymore, so it0s affected by the Howl of the Wendigo like any other Character. Suicidal Toad...
