Questions about the GM toolkit

By ElricOfMelnibone, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

Hi guys. In Italy it's pretty impossible to buy the GM toolkit at the moment (out of stock for italian distributors, among the worst in the world, just to let you know), so I wanted a few information about what can be found in it.

Are there many new advantages/disadvantages? Are there rules for gaining CP during level-ups? What else's there?

If the toolkit proves really interesting I might consider try and order it from abroad.

There're are a couple of new Advantages/disadvantages, but I'll only mention Touched By Destiny and Cowardly, two of which I really like - one grants you a free re roll per session, the other means that in a life-threatening situation, he takes -60 to all actions (I read that as seriously in danger - a ''normal'' fight he could probably handle.

There are rules for gaining new Advantages/ losing Disadvantages, which use the Characteristic Points you get every two levels - essentially, you can trade one in to get one advantage or lose one advantage. The only thing is that not all advantages can be gained this way, and not all disadvantages can be lost, and it all has to make RP sense.

There are Madness rules, which simply are tests against Composure, which lead to Shock test against PhR, the failure indicating the number of Mental Health points lost, a number generated by the combination of your WP, POW and INT, with modifiers depending on the situation.

After that, they have more Combat Modules -including some very useful ones- and Manoeuvres you can use. There're examples of PCs of each class, and finally a campaign you can run.

Without trying to give too much away ;)

Not to mention the beautiful GM screen that comes as part of the kit. I'd have to say the Anima screen is the most gorgeous screen I've seen to date.

Guess there's no way around...I need it.

There are 20 Advantages, 8 Disadvantages, 8 Combat Modules, and 5 combat maneuvres.

There is a system for using Characteristic points gained by level as CP.

Given that you seem fluent in English, would the English version be possible? Its relatively cheap from the likes of Book Depository.

I have a question about the screen. After reading through the book it became apparent that I was going to need to make some refrence sheets. In the past I have thought that just buying the screen would get me around the needs for reference sheets, but as it turned out the screen didn't have the charts that I would have found most useful.

A specific example was the Dark Heresy and Rouge Trader Screens. Most of the room was filed up with the stats for all the weapons and armor. Since I usually have that information on character sheets of NPC notes. I would have prefered the space to be used fo other things.

So my question is this, with so many different tables and charts in Anima, are the ones on the screen really the ones you use the most?

Thanks Skywalker. I'd say my English is pretty ok and I've been reading english written manuals for 16 years now. On the opposite, despite being similiar to Italian, I don't know how to read Spanish...I actually translated a manga (a three-books, one...) from Spanish, but my English is definitely far better, I sow there's at least one entry from e-Bay from the US. I'd have preferred ordering it from UE due to customs matters (Italian customs are almost as bad as Italian game distribution, as an additional piece of information), but I guess I'll give it a try and order it...8 new modules seems something which can give some new insight to the Weaponmaster Class...and 20 new Advantages means there must be something interesting...I'm also interested in Disadvantages since, we're always looking for the best way to gather CP for all those nice Advantages...
