Just got Invasion and 6 booster packs-Need to Know Questions

By Zazimire, in Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

I looked thru the top list of topics and didn't see much to help a noob like me. I read a great deal of the more advanced topics that the top topics (newest) had to offer and I have alot of questions.

1.) How many cards can you keep in your hand? I read somebodies post and he never heard anything about this one. I believe you can have as many as you want.

2.) Can you move a defender to the (battle zone) during the capital phase? I have read you need to make a movement type of deck if you want to move them but I'm not sure if you do. Do you need to have a movement card to move troops?

3.) I am only concerned with core decks for now. Is dwarf vs Orc a dwarf win every time? My mother played dwarf and beat me so quickly and I only had cards to play I didn't understand enough to use. She had good combat cards. I read that the core decks can be unforgiving I would love your opinion.

4.) I read you can destroy a players support card (like a warcamp) same as a troop and there was nothing in the rule books to break that down. Can you assign damage to a (place) type card?

5.) What does Currupt do I found it completely useless my first game out.

Can someone help me with these questions? I really need to know before I start another game

1. There is no hand limit. Be careful though, the more cards you draw, the closer you are to drawing all your deck.

2. Units can't be moved except by cards that make it happen, like Forced March and Temple to Shallya.

3. Orcs are usually pretty hard to beat from the core set. They are pretty fast and have more power per point of cost than most factions do. I'm sure the Orcs will come around for you.

4. Support cards can only be destroyed by cards that specifically say so. Demolition! and Burn it down are examples from the core set.

5. Corruption isn't too terribly strong in the core set since only a few cards use it, but it can be used to keep your opponent from defending a zone with their best unit with Seduced by Darkness.

Corrupted units cannot participate in combat. They can however, use their abilities. Players may uncorrupt 1 unit at the start of their turn, so if you can corrupt multiple of your opponents units they will have a hard time defending against your attacks for several turns.

Thanks guys for the break down! I read all the cards and with your help, I think I understand now. I just wish they would have told us all the rules in the book that came with the game. I really like this game and will post my stories of how the game goes. -Jeremy Sr.

You're lucky to enter the game after the first FAQ. Many of us had burning questions that no one seemed to want to answer. :)
