Source for images for a WFRP blog?

By plutonick, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I am struggling to find images to use in my WFRP blog. Most Warhammer image (drawings) are those of large scale battles. I am looking more low-key images (not necessarily from a Warhammer source, but with a Warhammer feel).

For instance I want angry, dirty villagers. Artwork of scenes in a Tavern. Scenery. Villages and Towns with a gothic feel. I tried searching photobucket's image repository for images with similar tags, but all I get is either models of WFB or screenshots from the MMO

Thanks!

Google images is your best bet. There are loads.

No, really I tried. I wanted an image for the mob that drives the PCs away from altdorf and the best I got was a monty python's image of 'burn the witch'.

[also tried your page, nice one, but it's geared towards enemies. I am looking more for scenery images]

I've had success in the past searching for things like:

  • Warhammer artwork
  • Warhammer illustrations
  • Warhammer Maps
  • Warhammer *creature here*

You will often get box art from the miniatures or the codex/army books (which is great art) but you will also stumble upon illustrations from the GW Artbooks which are released periodically.

You cal also check out the artists pages specifically, I cant remmebr many names but you can search for GW artists and look up theri names one by one and search their online galleries, great stuff usually.

Have you check all of my links - LINKS - ART SITES

Pen & Paper Art Galleries are very good.

Thanks for your replies. But you misunderstood me. Official Artwork is mostly Large scale combat, or fight scenes. I am looking for day-to-day life in Empire cities or villages. Pictures or artwork of civilians drinking in pubs, or villagers forming an angry mob. Pictures of dirty travellers riding coaches. That sort of stuff.

Best thing I could do so far was open my few pdfs and use 'print screen' to capture a few of the pictures in those. But pdfs cost money and I have alread exhausted my repertoir.

edit: hm, a few of the art sites on kevalahammer are actually low-key drawings. They might work!

I'd suggest not looking for a book called "blood on the reik' which can not be obtained fas a PDF rom undesirable sources (since i think its out of print). Its not filled with dozens and dozens of illustrated images of exactly what you are looking for.

Great. I had forgotten about that book. Wasn't this book compiled from scrapped artwork for the Warhammer MMO?

I think it was from artwork long before that, perhaps the first iteration of the MMO before Mythic took it over (2002 or so).

You'll be suprised to see a LOT of the artwork FFG is using with WFRP3 is based on the artwork from this book.

I'd say its the best book out there for trying to get a feel for how daily life in the empire goes. Its written from the perspective of an empire citizen and his encounters during his journies.

Just for the record, Blood on The Reik was not much useful. It mostly has pencil drawings with lots of notes ON the drawings. Nice to look at, but not suitable for blog use as a way to set the theme.

Slightly off topic, but I've allways loved Russ Nicholsons drawings.

Might be due to that Warlock at Firetop Mountain book, that was my first "roleplaying" experience, and I simply loved those drawings.

Still like them though, due to the skinny look on most monsters/characters, seems more "real" than the buffed muscles other artists have a tendensy to draw.
