Edge of the Abyss: Eratta

By Santiago, in Rogue Trader

Hi,

Page 63 of the book states that the Memory of Lament can land as many as 6 Lance hits in a single turn, shouldn't the Pulsar Lance Battery have Strength 3 instead of 1?

Page 67, shouldn't Master Shaper Ashak Kor have Unnatural Strength?

Page 113, shouldn't Rogue Trader Sarvus Trask have 2 Fate Points instead of 5

GrtZ,

S.

Though I can't speak with any authority on these points, I do have some guesses about why #1 and #3 are correct as printed:

If Pulsars work anything like their BFG equivalents (and I suspect they do), I'd suspect that they have a rule which allows them to score up to 2 additional hits. In BFG the Pulsar is a Lance that can make an additional attack after hitting, up to a maximum of 3 hits.

Sarvus Trask is a pretty special guy. Having a chunk of extra Fate points doesn't seem surprising at all.

She does; for some reason, it's not shown on her profile in the printed book, but it's listed in the Traits section on the following page.

Mechanically than they should have a higher Strength like all other Lance Batteries

No, they shouldn't. There's a different mechanic for achieving those multiple hits - giving it a higher Strength would allow a high number of Degrees of Success to cause multiple hits from a single roll to hit... the Pulsar mechanics allow them to roll to hit additional times (up to three times per Pulsar, with the Memory of Lament having two) to score additional hits, which is more potent as each roll to hit has its own chance to score a Critical.

The name is a little misleading, perhaps, but considering the number of different rules we tried (some of which counted it as a single weapon, others of which, such as the final version, counted it as two distinct components)

No, Servus Trask has a special rule called "Favoured by Fate" that say that he possesses a number of Fate Points equal to his WB rather than half that.
