RTL - ready and enter town

By letsdance, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

we wondered if heroes could take a ready action, go to town and take a rest in RtL

i found these posts, both official answers:

(concerning Tahlia)
OLs beware, however, as she can use her interrupt movement to go through a glyph to town, or even to lurk in town with a guard order, only to pop back through into the dungeon on the OL's turn (remember, only 1 trip through the glyph per turn, though).

Answered in the FAQ.
Q: Can a hero traveling to town via a glyph take any action before Restocking, such as attacking? Does returning from town still cost 1 MP? What other limits are placed on heroes in town and using glyphs?
A: A hero who begins his turn adjacent to or on top of an activated glyph has two options: take a normal turn or go to town. If he goes to town, he is immediately moved to the building of his choice and gets to Restock there. No movement points, no declared action – he just Restocks.

while the first answer indicates that moving to town is NOT a full action and you can even keep a guard order there, and tahlia could attack first and then use her movement to move to town, the FAQ indicates that moving to town is a full action and not something done by using movement points.

in my oppinion these two statements clearly contradict each other. concerning the statement that moving to town is a full action that ignores everything else: can i move to town while webbed? if i don't need movement points or declared action i see no reason why i shouldn't (other than it sounds stupid, but something concerning this matter sounds stupid anyways).

The first response refers to Tahlia's ability as it can work in vanilla (non-campaign) Descent. Normally, exiting the dungeon with a glyph is 3 MP, returning is 1 MP.

The second refers to using glyphs in Road to Legend (a campaign game). In RtL, many abilities which allow the heroes to heal (such as using the 'temple', which is something they can do in Town in this variant) are much more difficult, or removed entirely. As such, going to town is much more of an investment.

Being webbed is a rare instance when the campaign rules are actually more forgiving that the regular rules. Since vanilla glyph-use requires spending MP, it's impossible to do while webbed. In the campaigns, though, you can still do it by forfeiting your action.

In both versions, you can have an order while in town, and returning through the glyph takes 1 MP

In RTL you CANNOT have a ready order in town. FAQ Pg 15

Glyphs and Town
Q: Can a hero traveling to town via a glyph take any
action before Restocking, such as attacking? Does
returning from town still cost 1 MP? What other limits are
placed on heroes in town and using glyphs?

A: A hero who begins his turn adjacent to or on top of an
activated glyph has two options: take a normal turn or go
to town
. If he goes to town, he is immediately moved to
the building of his choice and gets to Restock there. No
movement points, no declared action – he just Restocks.

A hero who begins his turn in town has two options:
Restock again (at the same or a different building) or
return to the dungeon. If he returns to the dungeon, he
declares a normal action (Battle, Ready, Advance, Run)
and then must spend a movement point to move from town
to the dungeon, just like normal. If he somehow can't do
so (i.e. he Battled and had no fatigue left) then the entire
action is canceled and the hero Restocks instead.

You're wrong. Sorry. A hero that begins its turn in town can declare a ready action. Nowhere does it specify that the order must be placed after the hero returns to the dungeon. It's also been established (elsewhere on this forum) that a hero with the Leadership skill can place an order on a hero currently in town.

Moving to town costs 1 MP, just like coming back to the dungeon. Shopping costs 3 MP. These are separate costs, so it's a total of 4 MP to go to town and shop on the same turn.

Otherwise, +1 to everything else you said. These rulings the OP quoted are not contradictory because the first is referring to Vanilla Descent and the second is referring to AC. Perhaps they could have been worded more clearly, but they aren't wrong. They're just being taken out of context.

Mr. O-

You're correct. I haven't played vanilla in about a year, and I guess I've gotten a little rusty.
