Question about compatibility of expansions.

By Oneiromantis, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I have the first two expansions, "Dunwich Horror" and "Curse of the Dark Pharaoh".

I have noticed that the probability of drawing a DH card doesn't take into account the existence of CotDP. Example: DH has added enough Other World Encounter cards so when playing only with the starting game and DH when drawing one there is an equal chance that you will open one that will contain encounter in one of the two new Other Worlds and the previous ones (each new and old world get an equal amount of cards.). If you add the CotDP Other World Encounter cards then the probability of drawing a new Other World card decreases, not too much, but still.

So I wanted to question if the following expansions take this into account.

I would like to buy a new expansion but it would be annoying if the possibility of actually palying it would decrease by its existence. Because of the next expansions don't take into account the previous ones then the possibility of a gate opening in an expansion board would decrease so you would spend less time in the expansion boards and more in Arkham. Also, I don't want in order to proper enjoy an expansion to sit after each game and separate the cards so the next time I will play with the other expansion. Is there a way for the expansions to peacefully coexist?

The way I see, it, you have to house-rule it. One great way to counter Dunwich dilution specifically is to create a deck of 103 cards that includes all 25 cards that depict Dunwich-location gates, the Story Continues card, maybe the Old Debts Come Due! card, and then a randomly selected set of the remainder. When you get King in Yellow, add its 6 Next Act cards to the mix but leave the total at 103. Likewise, with Innsmouth, add its 33 Innsmouth gate location cards, but again keep the total at 103 (103 is the size of a Dunwich- or Innsmouth-only deck).

Currently, I'm at work trying to come up with a workable anti-dilution rule that scales with the expansions added, but leaves the chances of drawing the above cards of interest relatively close to using only one expansion. I've got a rule for all seven expansions but haven't yet found a way to scale it down.
