The dimly lit pub was populated by unsavory characters of all types, sipping their drinks as they surveyed the room from beneath dark hoods. The innkeeper moved deftly and noiselessly to refill the cups of his thirsty patrons with the watered-down swill he kept on tap, until a gaunt man in a tall top hat interrupted him. “I’m looking for something... special, and I understand you’re the man to see,” whispered the visitor. The innkeeper’s eyes narrowed as he opened his lips to feign ignorance, but the visitor’s hand appeared from beneath his cloak, jingling a leather purse full of coins. “Aye,” grumbled the innkeeper, the glint of gold in his eye. “What’ll it be?”
