This sounds so awesome! I love the title too! I'll definitely be checking this out.

As Dobbler said, we'd like to welcome you all to our first episode. I'm sure we're a little rough at the moment, but I promise that it will improve. For anyone curious, we're looking at a biweekly release schedule, and we've got a couple episodes already recorded, so at the moment, we've got some padding and hopefully it shouldn't be too hard to keep to the schedule no matter what happens with interruptions. Massive thanks to Darksbane. Not only for having my favorite fansite and deckbuilder, but also for graciously hosting this podcast.

What's a podcast?

*cries*

Thanks, and my pleasure on the hosting. Looking forward to hearing more :D

Kind of like a radio talk show you download and listen to whenever you want. Wikipedia

Go easy on him... at least everything was spelled correctly.

In the interest of accuracy, its not so much the spelling as the typing that causes me difficulty - i so prefer quill and vellum for my correspondence, but such are the indignities of the modern age.

Hijacker's mask doffed. Please resume the podcast discussion.

I enjoyed it!

Would have been better if you guys were not in a loud car on the interstate with someone's phone vibrating every few minutes, but these things will come gui%C3%B1o.gif

Agreed, but it was hard to find a better time to drum up a great deal of Thrones related content than during this trip. We'll see if I can't improve the audio quality when we sit down to record in an actual building.

Very much enjoyed it., and I'm sure it will get better as time goes on gran_risa.gif

I like it. Plus I'm going to see if I can't work Whispers from the Hill and Tarl into a greyjoy deck. One suggestion though. You should pick one (maybe your chump since he is low man on totem pole happy.gif ) to be moderator/host that way someone is directing traffic. Keep it up I'll be a loyal listener!

That doesn't work since the character must be killed. When Tarle has 3 or more power on him he's discarded, not killed. Whispers from the Hill only works on a killed character. I guess you could kill him after he has two power on him, but it's not like you can play him again since unique and now in your dead pile. I was going to post the mistake the guys made, but they didn't have the cards readily available to them (meaning it was an honest mistake) and I figured others would realize the error as well.

Yes, I'd already been planning on making us sketch out where we want an episode to go before we actually sit down and record so that we can be a bit more organized when we record Saturday. Sadly, it will be awhile before you hear that episode as we still have the Martin interview (which I'll likely put up soon to coordinate with Bear Swarm) and the post DoIaF episode still to go.

Any other feedback on the structure, or *gasp* the actual content? lol

Its actually very easy to get Tarle out of the dead pile. We have a plot that returns a Holy character from the dead pile now...so let Tarle soak claim twice, kill him on the third, and then bring him back. Easy cheasy Dothrakisi

True, forgot about that plot. Eastwatch-by-the-Sea and Ellaria are other interesting options with Tarle.

As for more feedback on the show itself I enjoyed it, lol. Make it your own, have fun, and it should be fine cool.gif

You forget. I'm an idiot. gran_risa.gif I guess I should have looked at the card. And having looked at the card I have come to the conclusion that you are right.

Great job with the podcast so far, I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to other episodes. Have you thought about doing some sort of scripting for it? Obviously it would be a skeleton type of script since your humor is best when its spontaneous...but it might help.

Yes, we will definitely have outlines/scripting. The first several were in the car, more just trying to catch those pre/post tournament conversations. I think these first few podcasts will really appeal to people who have had long road trips to tourney's like this before, as it captured that off-the-cuff, road trip feel that many of us have experienced. I would guess that podcasts 7 and 8 will feel completely different than 1 and 2.

Nice show, guys. A little pre-show planning will help. Several times you jumped topics when I felt there was still a lot to say about something. Thinking about things beforehand should give you a chance to flesh things out in your heads better before recording. Also, I don't care because I've read all the books and all the spoiler chapters etc., but you might want to put some kind of spoiler warning in your show in case you have listeners who haven't read all of the books yet (in the last ten minutes you went pretty heavy on the Storm of Swords spoilers).

Do keep in mind we do editing of the material. If a subject drags on too long, there is a chance we will edit out part of the conversation.

We still have another podcast yet to air that was recorded on the drive home from Minnesota. However, we have now utilized our equipment in a more sound friendly environment, and for those that don't like the car noises, there will be improvement in that area soon (just not the next podcast). We appreciate the feedback everyone has given!

So I just finally was able to sit down and listen to the show and right off the bat I enjoyed it a lot. It's great to see that there is a podcast for my new hobby. What I really liked was the interaction between the group, it was very casual and I sorta felt like I was one of the guys. I snickered when jokes were tossed around and I enjoyed the conversation. I can't wait to listen to more episodes and hopefully I will be able to catch up on the competitive scene (hopefully get into the Canadian scene). All in all a great episode and I can't wait to hear more.
