Should I get this?

By Gicih, in Death Angel

I am life long Space Hulk Fan but have hesitated to buy this as I am afraid of being disappointed by it. Also I am told that Co-op Games are not that good. You end up being played by the Game rather than you playing the game. Question is, Is this worth my time and money?

Its reasonably enjoyable. If you like Space Hulk/40k, the theme of the game is still there, it very much feels like space hulk in card game form. As far as "being played by the game," I'll kinda give that to ya. I've only been able to play solo, but co-op is basically the same thing (as all players are working towards the same goal), and it pretty much does come down to luck of the draw/dice. Coming up with the best overall strategy (or at least, something better than the other obvious options), isn't too hard, but all it takes are a couple bad rolls and it gets rough very fast (just like losing marines in space hulk).

As far as if its the game for you, well, hard to say. If you got $25 in your pocket, its probably a very good game for that price range, but you may want to save up for something better (depending on what your interests are).

As far as complexity goes, I haven't had anyone else to play it with, but it isn't "too" hard to teach (I imagine), much can be learned in the first turn of gameplay/taught on the fly. The core concepts are not too hard (kill the genestealers before they can attack, try to reduce the size of their hordes), and turn order can be pretty quick in multiplayer games (as each player controls relatively few space marines).

You should definitely get this game .

I must confess that I'm a fan of coop games, simply because most of the time, you can play alone, meaning you can play when you want.

That game "space hulk death angel" has all the quality I lool for in a game :

a very good look : good illustrations, that fit perfectly the GW universe, and that really show the connection with "Space hulk the board game"

a little box you can bring everywhere, but a lot of content for a very fair price

a short average time for a game, around 30 minuts, and an extremely good replayability due to the 6 different squads of terminators, and to the different space hulk section.

and other good point : it's very easy to design your own new room, to expend the variety of missions.

I played most of my games alone, like well over 60 game, and I still play 1 or 2 games a day with real pleasure.

I also played 5 or 6 games in a 2 players configuration. the challenge is different, but interesting too for sure. Plus, the game is easy to learn.

If you have 20 or 25 $ to spend in a game, and you're an old fan of the original space hulk... don't hesitate.

I'm also a Space Hulk fan (going back to 2nd edition) and I'd strongly recommend this game. It's one of the few games I've seen that plays just as well solo as multiplayer. And they do the 40K universe pretty much as well as Games Workshop does. I rate this game two thumbs up!

im also thinking of buying this game i just wanted too no about how much space does it take up while playing and should i buy this or the chaos maruders first i only got enough for one
