Clarification on moving AWAY from enemies - Help please

By Mordjinn, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

The rulebook says:

- "Figures can safely move next to and/or around enemy figures unless the enemy figure..."

What about moving away from the enemy? No penalty, no freestrikes???

Playing our first game ever with the vanilla box and just try to be sure to be able the other player's questions.

Cheers.

no attacks of opportunity.

general tip: if it isn't spellt out in the rules, don't assume something. it's not working. example: figures in pits have los only to spaces adjacent to the pit, but figures outside have normal los to figures in pits.

there's rough edges in the rules, that will make no sense to you, that's normal (k.i.s.s.). los rules are arbitrary, as are things like knockback. tell your friends to read the rules too and read the faq often. prepare to get into arguments constantly, i think that's half the game. *sigh*

Great advice, thanks for the answer. This is what I thought, but just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing something as I have been reading the FAQed rulebook printed from BoardGameGeek instead the genuine one.
