I would like to ask how should I use the card "Northern Steel"? From the description on the card it seems like attachments can be knelt separately from character cards they are attached to. Am I correct?

Thanks for help Rogue30! Since you're such a helpful person I would like to ask you one more question. When Reinforcements cards are put into play as characters, are they discarded at the end of the Challenge Phase, or do they stay in play as characters until they are killed or discarded in some other way?

They stay in play. If you play for example I'm You Writ Small and it becomes attachment, do you discard it at the end of the phase? No, it's attachment now, so it stays. The same with reinforcements - they are characters now and characters don't leave play at the end of the phase.
