Pre-painted minis and would you buy them?

By BoneSaw2, in Talisman

I spent a whole summer painting the original figs= one expansion, now I have about another dozen or so waiting to be painted. If there was ever a game I would pay a premium price for painted figs, it would be this one.

Thoughts?

I would also, as an avid collector of all things Talisman.

Not personally, but I could see them being popular.

What I plan to do is make cutable print outs of the R4E chars so I dont have to always use the grey unpainted models.

I think the models are cool for those who are inclined, but really, I prefer the much larger cardboard cut outs (like in the un revised 4th edition) to slip into a holder like the those little green char holders of the 2E, than these little 'hard to pick out who is who' all grey (for most of us) plastic models.

i think getting prepainted figures would be cool but only if the pirce was right i wouldnt pay that much as i personally dont think it is that important

I like to paint miniatures, but definitely I'm running out of time and cannot always keep the pace and get equal good results. I don't know which quality would I get from pre-painted figures, but the cost of painted miniatures is quite high. To get an idea, Tannhaeuser pre-painted miniatures cost $ 11.95 each.

A full set of pre-painted Talisman miniatures up to Sacred Pool will cost about 442 bucks. Perhaps FFG may reduce prices by selling them in lots (i.e. base set and each expansion), but still it's for people who don't want to paint or think they do not have the skill (I also did, but with time and care you'll improve your ability) and, obviously, are willing to pay for painted figures.

Normally I would say yes, but a good friend of mine was nice enough to paint mine for me. If he becomes unable to paint any future exansions, I would be in the market for painted minis.

An Idea - you could include in your price that the buyer sends you their unpainted minis. Then you'll always have another set to paint and turn over.
