Loyalty Card Question

By Londave, in Battlestar Galactica

A situation came up that has a large impact on how the rest of our game played out and I wanted to know what you guys think about how it should be played.

We were playing with Gaius as one of the characters. A crisis card allowed the Admiral to look at one of Gaius' Loyalty cards.

As it turned out one was: You are a cylon one was not.

In our game the Admiral picked the Cylon card and now knows that Gaius is a Cylon. Should the two cards be shuffled and then given back to the Gaius player or can the Gaius player look at the non-picked card while the Admiral has the other.

e.g. Should the Gaius player know which one the Admiral looked at? Will Gaius know what the Admiral knows?

Any help / thoughts?

There is nothing in the rules that prevents a character with two (or more) loyalty cards from checking to see which one another player looked at. For one thing, if the person looking at your card doesn't call you out as a cylon, you can think they are your other cylon partner. At the same time, checking your other loyalty card(s) might tip your hand to others to think you are a cylon.

Since a player can look at their own loyalty cards at any time, we allow that a player can look at his remaining loyalty card while the other is being peeked at. So, yes, Gaius should know that the Admiral knows. It's downright suspicious (as is checking the one that the admiral checked), but you can do it.

As highlighted, Its a bit Tricky for Gauis to look at his other card without raising suscpicion.

The best way I have found is to put your two cards in front of you in the same place from the beginning of the game. That way if some says "I'll look at the one on the left", Then I know what they have looked at.
