Placing monster Orders?

By Leew, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I'm a newbie to Descent and have a few queries regarding whether the Overlord can place readied orders like dodge and aimed attack on monsters. There are a few examples in the rulebook that suggest monsters can do these things - yet there is no mention of it in the Overlords turn that these tactics are useable. I've not played yet and need clarification as some of the core rules seem a little muddied. Can anyone help me out?

Monsters cannot place orders*, but the overlord gets cards that can be used to allow a monster to aim or dodge a single attack.

* I think the avatars in the advanced campaign expansions can use orders, but if so, they're an exception.

Avatars and LTs, IIRC. Of course, the AC expansions don't give you any extra order tokens that I can remember, so you either have to borrow the heroes' unused tokens or else make proxies or something.
