And I think that there are some advantages to leaving it on a character vs VB going back to Shadows since non-Targ houses don't have much attachment control but anyone can play King's Law or other shadow removal cards.

This is a joke, right?

Of course. Do you know anyone who actually plays with By the Light of the Sun or focuses on Shadow removal?

What I think Rogue30 is getting at is you could simply take Venomous Blade out of the Shadows at the beginning of the Draw or Marshalling phase; thus preventing it from being discarded by King's Law.

Like I said, joking.
But seriously, I would rather save my Syrio Forel if King's Law gets played since I don't run 3x Syrio... there's always another VB. happy.gif

If the opponent reveals The King's Law, you have Draw and Marshalling to bring out cards from shadows, so if you have Syrio and VB... why choosing?

I'm just saying sometimes you might want to save other things if King's Law were to be played. Silent Sisters in mid-late game can be really helpful; Shadow Cat... and at any given time Pinch of Powder could be a better thing to save than VB if there's no 2 str characters out and there are a couple of Baratheon nobles on the board gathering up power.

Zsa - be careful about straight comparisons between cards. Venomous Blade and Poisoned Knife while similar do not serve the same purpose in a deck. VB is a kill effect for weenies, but it does not usually help you win challenges unless you are still in the opening gambit. PK forces your opponent to save resources, and in many Martell decks that will be multiple resources for every instance of PK on the board, as well as providing stealth. It isn't that VB isn't strictly better, reliably removing characters, even low STR ones, as a repeatable effect is only trumped by reliably removing high STR ones with a repeatable effect.

The two actually work best together. The easy four card synergy that Venomous Blade, Poisoned Knife, Alchemist Shop, and Lost Oasis creates an environment extremely hostile to your opponents characters. I can kill off your non-save claim soak, kneel characters, and force you to constantly hold back 1-3 gold or influence, while bypassing characters during the challenge phase, increasing my STR, and very likely with this mix killing any defender not targeted by the above effects.

VB is situationally better than Poisoned Knife, but its effect at 1 gold is undercosted (as many people believe VB to be at s0).

I should state that the above cards especially when coupled with common Martell characters like The Red Viper, Darkstar, Arianne Martell, etc. make me a very happy Martell player.
