Hi Descent experts,

I have a question about the interaction between Breath, Taunt, and Crushing Blow. Assume I make a breath attack that covers multiple characters, including one with the Taunt ability. If the breath attack hits and I now play Crushing Blow, am I only allowed to use it on the hero with Taunt, or can I target another hero hit by the breath attack? From my reading of the cards, it seems to come down to whether Crushing Blow is considered part of the same attack or an independent targeting action. I can find no evidence in the rules to support either interpretation. Any thoughts?

This is all in the FAQ.

1) Taunt only forces an attack to target the Taunting character. If a monster with breath is Taunted by a hero, he has to put his breath template on the hero if possible.

2) Crushing Blow can target any hero under the template.

3) None of the figures under the template will take damage if Crushing Blow is used in conjunction with Breath, as the entire attack's damage is reduced to 0.

So yes, as long as you can get both heroes under the template, you can use the CB on a different hero than the one who did the taunting.
