How is it that FF got the okay from Games Workshop to make the cardboard stand ups for this game, but not for the 40K game?
Rights for the cardboard standups
Have you considered that the designers of 40K never intended or desired for cardboard stand-ups to be made?
I smell a conspiracy from the Calyx sector...
Well, I wish they would consider. Those are really nice visual aids and they are also good to fill in our miniature collection for those creatures exclusive to the Dark Heresy rpg. It seems unless you are playing Deathwatch that your selection of miniatures are limited and hard to find in most stores. There is a good selection of WHF miniatures, but they released these stand ups anyway.
So to conclude, that would be super awesome if FF put out ones for Dark Heresy and maybe Rouge Trader. If enough people wanted them to do it, then it would be possible (after all, a lot of people wanted the hard back, bit-less version of 3rd ed and we are getting it).
I personally LOVE the standees that FF has produced and am considering making my own to buff out my collection. They're a wonderful/cheap alternative to minis, and can even be used with grid maps if you're so inclined!
I like the standees, too, and plan to make my own so that players can have custom art for their characters.
I do wish that the pre-printed ones had names or types printed down at the base; it's taken me a while to determine which standees were for careers and which were for NPCs from the various adventures. But this is a little gripe at best.
Anyone know if Strange Eons has a plug-in for making standees?
