Question about Plot Cards and Challenge Icons

By Stas3D, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hi all!!!))) first, sorry guys for my lame english)))

I have core set, with russian localisation)

I didn't found answers in my general rules book, and FAQ)) so, can u help me with next points:

1. When i open a plot card, i read the effects on it. If it has an multiply effect - it's not a problem to resolve it.
Other plot cars - have a effect, that only talks abouts yours characters, location e.t.c
But, in some plot cards, text talks about event, and not saying - who is a target of effect. Is it an multiply effect, or it's only a privat event.

Unfortunately i can't call you a card i'm talking about. It's a plot card with skulls from House Stark. It tells some like "kneell 2 bla bla bla.... and kill all other characters".
What characters? Is it about my characters? or all characters and all players?

2. Can i play a challenge (for example, i want to make a intrigue challenge) to a opponent, which don't have this kind of challenge at his cards?.
For example: I play with Barateon House. Starks have small amount of cards with "intrigue". Opponent play with Starks, and don't have a cards with intrigue challenge type in a game. I can make challenge to him (as attacker) every round and take 1 power bonus without any fight. I will do this (why not?!) until hi will find at least 1 card with intrigue challenge type icon, and play it.
Is it right?

thank u)))

Are you talking about Valar Morghulis? "When revealed, kill all characters in play." All characters in play means all characters on table.

Yes, it is right.

first, thank u for helping)) Anyway, i will play Starks . don't like intrigue hhh

yes it is) Valar Morghulis

"All characters in a table" = "all characters in a table of all players"? Is it a multiply effect?)

So, usually plot card has a multiply effect?

Every effect refers to all cards that match what it says. You do not create limitations that are not written on the card based on who played the card. So:

"Kill all characters" literally means all characters, regardless of who played the effect or who controls the characters.

"Kill all your characters" would mean to just kill all characters controlled by you, leaving characters controlled by your opponents alone.

"Kill all your opponents characters" would mean to just kill all characters controlled by your opponent, leaving yours alone.

"Choose and discard an Ally character" means to choose any character with the Ally trait, no matter who controls it, and discard it.

"Choose and discard an opponent's Ally character" means to choose a character with the Ally trait controlled by your opponent.

And so forth. The thing to remember is that an effect always applies to everything. Any limitation in scope will be written on the card.

Thank u very much, guys! ))) Very clearly and helpful!

U know, english versions allways more clear, than it's localisations. Anyway, AGOT have a better russian localisation than all other games)
:-)
