The Relentless Pursuit questions

By Quit2, in Battlestar Galactica

I have two questions about this addition:

The article talks about the ability of vipers to escort civilians in their space section to safely remove them from the board. Does this viper activation also remove the viper to the reserves, or does the viper stay on the board?

When all cylon ships of one type are on the cylon fleet board, and an effect adds ships of that type to the main game board (e.g. Cavil's primacy, broadcast location or some non attack crisis cards, ... ), are none added or does the active player have to choose the appropriate ships from the cylon fleet board?

Good questions that it would have been nice to have had answered, if for no other reason that we could start "dry running" the new rules, something I really want to do.

My impressions (since it is likely FFG won't address them) are that the vipers would still stay on the board after escorting off a civilian ship. Either that, or in order to escort off the board the pilot must also discard a skill card, or else it gets around the discard a card to return to Galactica rule. I'm still going with the first option.

For the second part, I assume you are asking about cylon ships (such as from Cylon Tracking device, or Broadcast Location) since Civilian Ships will automatically get added to the Galactica board and not the Cylon Fleet board. I would assume with what we currently have to go on that these units would be taken from the Cylon Fleet board and moved onto the Galactica board as part of those abilities. The only other option would be if Exodus also came with "corrected" version of cards and characters (like Pegasus did with Investigative Committee). So if both Basestars are on the CF board and Cavil triggers the Primacy he could take one off the Cylon Fleet and add it to the main board.

Cavil does bring up the biggest questions, since he can do so much with the Primacy (Basestars and raiders). Having him modified to moving all the Cylon ships to around Galactica is way too powerful for a normal action (but could make an interesting OPG for a new leader), but once he puts those cylons ships on the board, the rules as we currently understanf them would make it so the Pursuit track would only advance when Heavy Raiders are activated (assuming the Basestar doesn't launch them). Perhaps this is something to send to FFG Rules Questions and see if they answer before the game releases.
