Sorry for the lack of response - my gmail account locked for some reason and stopped delivering e-mails to my blackberry. We have an e-mail chain going, I've just added Conrad to it. Jay, could you add Rorsach?

Best i can tell everyone who is participating in tomorrows game is ready to go. Please shoot me an email if you ahve not already gotten in.

2pm PST Sunday 14th

Day Late, A Shiling Short

Gitz

The game is scheduled for 2pm PST this afternoon. We've got a full group and GM. Should be fun after the tech session yesterday =)

World, get ready for Konrad Weissman!

Game on!

Gitzman

It's just as well we took the preparation onto e-mail. I'm now at something like 70 emails in the conversation thread on gmail.

Yea no kidding =). Well its a good indicator as to how excited we are to make this work!

Great first session guys. Gitzman really has some great tools and programming in MapTool. You still need the game to play but we were three in the US and two in the UK and had no trouble getting through "A Day Late." Kudos to Emrikol for GMing as well.

It was quite easy to get set up and the WFRP rules are conducive to the mechanics of MapTool. Sure there's the capabilities for move distance, positioning, and line of sight in MapTool but you don't have to use it and I think the house rules we did were a nice compromise of the two.

If I didn't already have a local game, I would very much be getting this set up for some of my more scattered friends. Still, I'm looking forward to the next game and would be willing to participate in any pick-ups or one shots as well.

P.S. you know, im surprised we have not gotten more people interested.

Would love to play with you guys and girls but unfortunately the timing is off for me. I get Monday nights and all day tuesday (GMT) off, and a few other days until 3pm (GMT).

Knowing you were based in the States, and seeing the times proposed, I did not want to disappoint myself, else there would have been no question.

Next time maybe.

Alp

We're trying to train a few GM's from your side of the GMT line :) I'd like to see the ability of you isolated guys get a chance to play more. Sometimes there aren't local players and maptool works great for getting together with others.

jh

I'm trying to get a UK group together with a couple of my friends from around the country. I'll post here as soon as I have dates/times.

The game we ran on Sunday had 3 guys from the states and 2 guys from England. So finding online gamers from the Eurpoean side shouldnt be an issue at all. The only issue i forsee while playing is mostly centered around coordinating times people can play when working internationally. Playing States and England is a tough cookie.

Game on!

It's a shame, because I really like the American accent. I'm kind of used to it, having just spent three months in DC.

That said, I'm hoping that we can make weekends work.

Oh we will certainly try to make it work, i had a blast playing with you guys. Fealt like we'd been playign for ages.

Gitz

I'm surprised you want to at all after my HORRIBLE french accent. At least Conrad vaguely sounds like a dwarf when he tried. I just sound like a Russian-German who has recently had a stroke.

Yeah, the game was great fun and I enjoyed playing with the colonials, so count me in for the next one.

James, I didnt think your accent was that bad, much better than my french accent.

Accent? What accent? Y'all have the accent. We American's speak just fine ;)

:)

Jay

I loved playing with the Brits becaus due to their accents their characters naturally had a sense of... character before they even put some effort into it =). Even when just talking normal. I wonder if its the same for them when we run our characters, or if the american accent doesnt translate the same. Its impossible to recognize your own accent and see it in a different light, so i was just curious.

Gitz

I cleaned up the WFRP Maptool forum, so it's ready to go: forums.rptools.net/viewforum.php

Anyone wishing to get in on some action should start organizing there. We'd be happy to teach new players who want to GM. If you live remotely, this is the way to go. You MUST own the game however as maptool is just the virtual tabletop.

jh

I havent really thought about the accent thing before but I suppose your accent doesnt translate across the same for me as I dont associate it with the old world.

Though if we played a western that would be a different matter indeed!!!! Yeeha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!gran_risa.gif

well, it was fun :)

i'll need to convert my character to a Bretonian i guess ... my accent beeing real and all ... :P

Its much funnier when you realize how bad your impersonated French accent is when a real French accent chimes in.

Gitz

Cwell, you could always be a Marienburger. The've got that Dutch accent ;)

Anyways, it was cool playing internationally again:

Serbian, French, UK, Californian and American (just kidding you californians ;)

Announcement: Next online Maptool game: Sunday GMT (-7)// 12pm MST to 4pm MST.

The Gathering Storm (part II)

Noobs are welcome as room permits.

We're using skype and maptool version b76

Jay Hafner

Woo! Looking forward to it.

Jay, shoot me all the notes you have on setting up maptools so i can review/add content to it. I'd like to get a 'readme' file going so we can distribute it with the campaign files and give to new players.

Gitz

p.s. The full color version of the super big map is getting close to completion! Looks awesome!

As a note to this, I am currently running an online campaign with some friends that I'm happy to accept a couple of new recruits for. We generally play our sessions at around 6:00-7:00pm GMT. Two of our players are in the UK and one is in France. I'm in the UK. The character party has a decidedly thuggish bent. We have a Charlatan, a Thug and a Graverobber. As a group we are heavy on the inter-party dialogue, so any character looking to join the party would have to be of a criminal bent.

Feel free to e-mail me ([email protected]) if you're interested.
