Can Cursed Items be bought at the market or only found in Chests?

The cursed items still are a treasure cards. When you go to market to buy a treasure, you drawn a treasure card from the deck. if it's a cured item or not dosent matter.

to be more clear: yes you can normaly buy cursed item even it's from the market treasure Deck

They are farely powerful, even with the "curse" token added when equip'd. So there was some question within the group about buying more from the market.

the ideas behind the cursed item is to makes the heroes think about them twice before they will equipped.

of course there are strong items, but they increase the heroes value too. and if an hero is enough irresponsible to unequip and re equip it it value grows more.

think at the mage, usualy a easy prey for the Ol and for the same reason whit a low value(2 or 3 at the most) if they wants power they must be ready to give the OL a lot of Victory points, expecialy when they have 2 different cursed item and are constricted to switch them

also remember every time you equip a cursed item, the hero gets a curse token. for example, if the hero's CT is 3, then equips the cursed item, it is now 4. during the game if the hero chooses to equip a different item, then equips the cursed item again, the hero now is worth 5 CT now. the curse tokens go away once the hero dies.

when the hero dies if he chooses to have the cursed item equipped, he starts with 1 curse token again.

Some items possess great power, but come at a price. These items have the Cursed trait. Any time a hero equips a cursed item, he receives one curse token. In addition, if the hero is killed , he must immediately either discard or re-equip any cursed items he had equipped when he died. He receives one curse token for each cursed item that he re-equips, to replace the curse tokens that were removed when he died (see Curse on page 8 for more information).

Yes, thats how exactly it works.

So every time an hero die, he can think about how easy the Ol cut hes life and if keep the cursed item will be a good idea.
