Hi all we're currently playing a campaing in which the overlord has the Ascension's plot. I've read the feat must be discarded in the final battle ... what is considered the final battle ?

- when total conquest point is 600 begins the final battle ? So i've got to discard them ?

- or when i enter the Overlord Fortress ?

- or when tha Avatar apperars in the 5th level of the overlord dungeon ?

And again, if i enter the overlord keep before the total of 600 conquest (beacuse of comet and temple beeing in place as the ascension plot says) is the final battle begun (so i've got to discard the feats) or not ?

My guess are that, in any case, as the exploration of the final dungeon begins, we've got to discard feat at 1st level .. (even if i consider more balanced to discard them at level 5th when the avatars apperars as the avatars has to discard power cards in play) !

1) at the beginning of a week turn, if the Champain victory point count is more than 600 (601 it's enough), the final battle is started(the players can make one last training and the heroes will move at and IN the Ol keep).

So if you respect the basic rule, you have to discard your feat at the beginning of this week turn because the Fb it's just started..

2) The flavor text on the manual suggest usualy the group can not enter in the OL keep because they cant find a way, and this secret way will be discovered only in certain moment(marked whith the champain VP count)

so, if you discovered this way before, you starting a Final battle on your own.

in this case i will considering the start of the FB when the group will enter in the OL keep(since is not the game rule to move them in it but their own foot)

This second answer it's my consideration, the most logic i've found, but in Descent logic dosent mean correct

The final battle is between the Overlords Avatar and the heroes. When the Avatar is placed, All of the OL's cards get discarded and the deck is put away. This includes power cards.

At this point, the heroes will also discard all feat cards.

Note however though, that the overlord still keeps his threat, and continues to gain the threat tokens. They serve no purpose though.

The manual says the Fb starts at the beginning of the week turn, not when the avatar is palced on the board. i dont have Toi so maybe there it's more clear about it ,but following the RTL the placment of the avatar figures its only the final act of the final battle, not the final battle indeed.

you sure have a good point because the OL discard all this card when the avatar are placed, but it's not somethings he have to do at the start of the Final battle, instead the feat card of the heroes(if i've understand it right, since i still dont have TOI and dont know how they works)

Tks for the answers but i found the answer looking into the rules of sea of blood ... that resumes them and it seems that the feat are lost as the overlord appears and not when starts the dungeon ... It is specified at page 23 and even if it's not official, i can undestand that it is what they intended to, even in the Road to Legend. And it seems right to me ...

When RtL came out feat cards didn't exist. So i would agreed that the Feat Rules in Sea of Blood would be true for all Advanced Campaign RtL and SoB.
