Sacrificing units, another go

By rashktah, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Hi!

I know that I can sacrifice units when they are assigned enough battle damage to kill them. There is an action window for doing this before the battle damage is applied, therefore killing the unit.

But what happens if a unit is killed/removed without taking any 'real' battle damage? For example, if a unit has to be removed because a Dark Elf Dark Sorceress' ability reduces the units' life points to zero? Is the controlling player (of the to-be-removed unit) able to sacrifice his/hers unit, too?

Please help!

Well, Vile Sorceress is a Forced, so can't do anything about that, at least not in response. For We Need Your Blood, you can sac your 1HP unit in response to your opponent playing WNYB (assuming you have something that allows saccing of course, like Grudge Thrower), that way you get possibly some benefit from saccing the unit, instead of just losing the unit for WNYB.

Thank you very much for your answer! :)
