London AGoT Meetup Group

By The Magus2, in 3. AGoT Organized Play

Hey there

Thanks to all who came on Saturday. It was great to see Bath and Brighton people - incidentally I picked up a set of power tokens that I think belonged to one of the Brighton crew. PM me if they're yours.

As we discussed at the end of the day it would be easier to set up a meetup group for people to communicate through as the forums here can be a little substandard (I've spent the last 10 minutes trying to paste in hyperlinks and it just won't allow me to do it, unlike every other forum I post on).

I checked my Meetup account and I can run up to three Meetup group on the same account. So I've set up a group on Meetup.com specifically for these meets. It's called The London A Game of Thrones LCG Meetup Group and you can get to it via this link:

I now appear to have mastered the link problem. There is an option for forums over on meetup so we can post there if need be. I will habitually post links over here now that I'm able.

I was the only one from Brighton that brought board/tokens etc and i've still got it. I'm just missing a kingsguard role card (but I was always missing that)

Cheers for giving us the pleasure of meeting/playing you guys. It deffinately was fun to play people outside of the usual group.

After the looking over the 3 games I took part in I think my decks (atleast the ones I used) need a good ol' re-nag.

Toodles!

Thanks to The Magus .... it is great that you've organized these and it was good to meet and play against other players.

cheers

Guy

Thanks again for another great day Magus. Good to see Bath and Brighton represented. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of decks on offer - not all Baratheon as I feared!

guy, how did your Kingsguard deck pan out? I'm interested to see if The White Book is actually a viable agenda to play.

Rydo72 (I said I was no good with "real" names and forum names), that was its first run and I was really quite pleased with it. I came second, though if I could have won another challenge (I was the last player) I would have won. Unfortunately too many characters had been knelt, and I chose to do a military rather than intrigue with the character I "borrowed" (though I'm not sure that would have done any better). As a result Dom won with his "get three power if you win dominance". So, really close. In some ways it was a semi-typical melee where one or two players get to be King-maker(s) as there are two players in a position to win.

As for the White Book, that gave me three or four power during the game. It really makes you think about whether you want to defend a challenge to win it, rather than save those characters for attacking, because there is a reward for doing so. I'm really looking forward to giving it a proper run of games.

cheers

Guy
