Warlock Quests

By Uvatha, in Talisman Rules Questions

When you draw them do yo look through deck and pick one?

Or just pick one without looking? Also players have to complete their quest as soon as possible right?, they can hold off on completing them?

It depends on what sets you are using. If you are using the Reaper expansion set then you look through them, if you are using Frostmarch then you pick randomly.

Finishing the Quests as soon as possible, which is written in the Reaper rules, is subjective. I don't think you should put yourself in a situation that is impossible, but if there is a significant chance then you should take it., but there's a lot of wiggle room there as can be seen with the recent discussion about the gold quest.

So what happens if you use the Reaper expansion and Frostmarch?

The prob is with some new cards from "The Sacred Pool" the doing quests as soon as possible really has a effect on gameplay. Some of the cards are quite powerful while you have a quest and when you finish it you have to them.

So I say again whats the Official ruling on this?

I should say that you must draw the warlock quest cards at random

If you have just the Reaper then pick, if you are using Frostmarch at all then it's random. So both R & F = random.

And what about having to complete quests as soon as possible?

Is it a Official rule or can players put off quests if they choose?

It says in the Reaper rules that you must complete a Quest as soon as possible. There's some latitude with that with the word possible right? Don't attack the Str. 8 Dragon if you have Str. 3, it just won't happen, but make the attempt if you are Str. 6 for sure. Go in the general direction of the Quest, but that doesn't mean you can't explore the Dungeon if you think it will help you fulfill it. The gold quest seems really debatable as you can hold off for awhile until you have the right amount. Go with your comfort zone, how strict or relaxed is your Warlock?

Whats the Offical ruling on completing warlock quests. Are you ment to complete them asap even if you don't want to or can't really or have little chance of completing them?
