Tattoos and Scars

By Guest, in Deathwatch

So Im reading Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes for Heroquest, and I see that the character sheet has a little dude in the corner for you to draw on features and markings:-

I think this is a totally awesome idea* that could easily be stolen for Deathwatch. What Marine won't be covered with a network of scar tissue and tattoos after several hundred years of service. And you could have a picture to record them! The big Imperial Eagle tattooed on your guy chest? Draw it on! The claw marks from a particularly wounding attack by a genestealer? Big manly gashes on his forarms. The augmetic leg he got after a lascannon blew off the original? Doodle one in! The barcode on the back of his neck. The long service studs in his forehead. Draw em all in!

Well I think it is a good idea.

*I'd think it was even more awesome if they had had the nerve to make the dollies completely naked, but hey ho.

Nice idea.

I don't think that my skill in trade (artist) is high enough to draw my Ironpriest but for normal marines that could be awsome.

Heh. I used this basic concept with the Eldar but... Errr, yeah, wrong forum and game I guess. :D

One of the things I liked about the implementation in Sartar:KOH was the examples (there are a couple more in the book) showing you don't need to be very good at drawing to create something fun.

I see Phillip Sibberings marine pictures in the same pose - front/back with arm raised. Maybe add a Black Carapace and some interface plugs.

Certainly it would also be great for Eldar, although their more intricate patterns might be harder to draw than crude Imperial iconography!
