Help! I need an Empire map to scale or distances between towns. Any official references are most welcome!

Why not use Gitzman's maps? There are several in his gallery that should work (I quite like "The Empire (Detailed Colour) 2").

Well E, you will probably love me when i finish the project i'm working on.

I'm puting the super big detailed map that i have on my site into a google maps viewer so you can zoom in and out and pan around within the browser. That will include some sort of scale in it.

Not sure when it will be finished though, its quite a doozy to code and configure.

Just thought i'd throw that out there =)

its in about 200 miles from Altdorf to Nuln.

Check out Allavandrel's post (Reply #4) in this thread: it's got a fantastic, copiously-detailed list of travel distances within the Empire, including the distances you ask about...

Nuln - Altdorf: 210 miles River (Downstream River Reik)

Altdorf - Middenheim: 220 miles Road (Middenheim-Altdorf Road)

I've been planning to make new revised list, when Andy Laws huge map comes out...

And how is that map coming along? Any word on the progress? I've got Reikland somewhere, but I am thirsting for the whole thing. The scale of the project is just amazing - although I thought about it for a while and I wouldn't use this super-detailed map. Takes away from the badly-charted-land-that-is-Empire feeling. I'd just like to have it handy for inspiration or just to have it in my collection.

Well actually i just made a breakthrough today with a nice guy from Poland who is helping me =)

I've got a beta up and running with 5 levels of zoom so far, and two more to go. The whole image is 16,384 px squared so it takes a while to tile it out. But i'll have it up on the Gitzman's Gallery Map Page shortly i'd imagine. I'll probably add zoom levels as time goes on, start with what i've got.

Gitzman's map is definitely best one to use now. Those old maps are just missing some roads and some settlements are little different places. But roads should be easy enought to edit / add... Gitzman - I'll send private message about the map.

What is this Andy Laws' map that people are mentioning? Is that something he's doing (whoever he is) at random, on his own? Or is it part of an upcoming official product?

I think it started as unofficial product, but it definitely would be worthy product if published officially. I just dont know whats going on with the map currently. It looked great all ready.
