cancel combat damage

By davve, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Hi,

A friend of mine has a high elf unit (once again, i don't know the name) that has as text "cancel all combat damage assigned to this unit". Now he claims this means that, as long as that unit is defending, one can never do combat damage to the zone it is defending. I don't know but it sounds awfully overpowered to be true so I thought I'd just ask.

Please advice

Indeed your friend is correct. HElves have both Swordmasters of Hoeth (BZ) and Dragonmage (any zone) who will single-handedly stop all attackers from doing any damage to the zone they defend.

There are ways around them of course. Corrupt them so they can't defend, turn damage into uncancellable, kill them with non-combat damage (works better on SoH), take control of the unit for yourself demonio.gif , etc.

Only 1 card cancels all combat damage and that's Swordmasters.Just remember, it only works if the swordmasters is in the battlefield. If your friend is using it to defend quest/kingdom, it doesn't cancel all combat damage

Yeah. The Dragon Mage with +3 HP on Defend Tor Aedris is a 'beast'.
