The description of the weapon interface states it is a simplified version of the MIU available to non Mechanicus Characters, is it possible to perform the same tasks with the regular MIU ?

The Ballistic MIU is a combination of an MIU interface and a gyro-harness for the weapon itself. The full-scale MIU is intended for grander applications; hooking into a series of mounted heavy bolters, for example.
