I am still relatively new to the Call of Cthulhu LCG and I have a quick question that I need some clearity on.

During the Story Phase as you resolve each of the Struggles there are times when a particular Struggle must be won multiple times (such as when an Icon Boost has been played)

So for example (to see if I understand the mechanics here):

If I am resolving a Terror Struggle and there is an Icon Boost that increases the Terror Struggles by 3 (so that a total of 4 Terror Struggles must be done) and I have played 3 characters with a total of 5 Terror Icons amongst them and I lose the first Struggle - one of my characters must go INsane so and be turned over.

For the next Struggle I only have 2 characters to enter the fray... etc...

Am I getting this?

The rules are a tad obtuse but then again I may be trying to make more of this than I need to.

Hi there

Yes I think you have got the general idea. If there are 3 icon boosters then the struggle must be resolved 4 times and you would turn a character insane after losing each one (although a character with a terror icon cannot be chosen to go insane, so nothing would happen if all your guys have terror).

However I am no expert, so maybe someone else can explain it better.

I guess, in a nut shell, if you are going to lose a Struggle once - then be prepared to lose multiple times if there are multiple struggles to be had!

Well, the point you need to remember is that the struggles always resolve in the same order, except if a card in play states to change the order.

So, if you loose the first terror struggle, you need to resolve the terror struggle once more and so on. The result will be exactly the same, so you'll have another insane character on your side and so on.
