Kingdom of Shadows (1) (1)
[All Factions Location]
Kingdom.
After a player wins an Intrigue challenge, that player kneels all copies of Kingdom of Shadows to choose and stand a card with the Shadow crest.

Are the all copise of Kingdom of Shadows refer to the Kingdom of Shadows under the winning player's control or all the Kingdom of Shadows in play?

I know normally when "kneel XXX to do YYY", the XXX should be your own resource. But i am not so clearly with the word "all copies". In the text box of "Bay of Ice", it said "all cards named Bay of Ice", are they different?

These cards are written differently (it may be mistake or on purpose), however they work in similar way. Since Kingdom of Shadows is talking about "player" not "you", obviously it forces the winning player to pay cost by kneeling all copies in play.

Ultimately, it probably shouldn't be written as a cost. However, since it is a passive effect forcing you to pay cost, rather than a triggered effect where you would have the choice to pay the cost or not, there is some differentiation to standard effects and you would kneel all copies of the card, including those controlled by your opponent, even though tradition concepts of "do X to do Y" would limit you to cards you controlled.

Yes, I think you are right.

But it has been written as a cost, so that is the point.

I now understand the kneeling cost which affects all copies of Kingdom of Shadows cards in play. Just to make sure I understand this card correctly with the to do portion (stand).... as an example:

If I have one Kingdom of Shadows in play (and it's the only one), and I'm the only player with shadow crest cards in play, if my opponent(s) wins an intrigue challenge that opponent would kneel my Kingdom of shadows and be forced to choose & stand one of my shadow crest cards? Or no?

Obviously, in a similar example if I win an intrigue challenge I can stand one of my shadow crest cards if Kingdom of Shadows is available to be knelt still.

Random - I know I'm not alone, but I really miss Tzu-Mainn. Even though I know we can search the forums it's not very friendly to navigating through lots of search results that aren't applicable Losing all those legacy rulings really stinks! Every time I hope to find some rulings in Dabbler or Rogue30's site I seem to come up short too. Since our group is still slowly moving through the sets we rely on "older" rulings quite a bit that are new cards/sets to us. happy.gif So please forgive questions I'm typically asking that are likely obvious to many.
