How is leadership affected by stun?

What I think, is that stun specifically tells you what you can do, and nothing outside that can be done. What my player thinks, is that leadership is a way around stun.

Leadership specifies that a hero must declare a "Ready" action. A stunned hero cannot declare a ready, only a move, an attack, or place an order.

Leadership could be used to place an order on another hero that is currently stunned, as long as the hero with Leadership fulfills the triggering conditions of the skill. But if the hero with Leadership is stunned, he cannot declare a Ready action, and therefore cannot meet the triggering conditions.

I thought so. For some reason, I totally misread the card where it says "declare a ready action". Thanks.
