A couple of Sea of Blood questions.

By wingbirdx2, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

During a campaign, some issues came up that our group cannot decide an answer.

1. On the overlord plot card "Peace Talks," does Dallak being razed this way count towards the 5 razed cities victory condition?

2. On the "Snake Charmer's Den" dungeon level card, is there a movement cost or a limit to the the master naga's ability to teleport between pits?

3. If the home port is razed, are we able to go back to the city while in the dungeon before we set a new home point?

1. No one is certain. I believe so, because although it does not use the term 'razed', a razed marker is left there, and everything in this game has a marker or card as a reference - there is no 'memory state'. So if it leaves a raze marker, it must be a razed city, becuase next time you play teh game you have no other reference to show it is different from other razed cities.
OTOH, for balance reasons it should definitely not count as razed!

2. Don't have the card handy, but IIRC, no. if it doesn;t have a cost on the card t is free, although it is probably limited on the card to just once. The answer is, just literally play the card as it reads.

3. There is nothing to say you can't go back to a razed city - you just can't use any of the buildings (so the only reason to go back is to escape a sticky situation, or end the level without getting to the portal).

Thank you for the reply. We came up with a couple other questions this week, mostly open sea battle issues.

1. Is there an extra movement cost to move from an ocean space to a boat space?

2. What happens exactly when all the PCs flee the edge of the board, and the ship was still on the board?

3. Can sharks adjacent to the PC ship make attacks on adjacent heroes on board ?

1. No, except over a railing of course.

2. The heroes turns get very short and the OL's monsters get a free hand in using the ship stations - basically, if the ship can be steered into a rock etc then it will be, if it can't then eventually it will drift off the edge or end of the map. If it sinks it is a Total Party Kill result (the heroes don't die, so the OL didn't get the CT for them, but the result of the encounter is a TPK, which means the party is sent back to their home port). If the shink gets off the map it is a Party Flight result (both pg18).

3. Read the Shark card itself. It tells you that sharks can only attack figures that are in the water, so no.
