with the addition of ork characters in "into the Storm" is it posible to create a playable grot using the same origin path provided for the ork. if yes, your thoughts on a playable squig.
playable Grots
No. Just, no.
LOL That would be hilarious. I'm surprised my party hasn't twigged this idea yet...
Why would anyone want to be a grot?
It's like being an ork without any of the disadvantages, and several more disadvantages on top of that!
I don't see why not though, Stats would be weird to roll. and the tables would need to be grot-ified
Who wouldn't want to be a grot!
Smrter n shootier n haz fastness!
No, the "Into The Storm" Freebooter Career is designed for Orks, not grots. They both have totally different skill-sets, and that means you'd have to make up a career for them yourself.
It would be an awesome game. Great idea.
Don't take it too seriously, but it could be so much fun.

i think they would fit. The low (very low) stat would compensate for the power it gives. Just swtich any toughness with agi and str with Unteligence...
It is adaptable for a quick fun mash up. I would prevent very "high" rank (no more then rank 2 IMO) nay unnatural stat too (there is nothing unnatural in those grots!.
Grots stats would probably be 2d10 -5...
add make a dozen character each cause they may go down pretty fast!
( or add a 1 of 12 grot Node suborkion Gram'ma!)

A gretchin with More Fer Me and Furious Assault? Yeah, that'll work out just fine.

If you consider they hang around giant squig and orks i don't think that extra "useless" attack will change mutch. At str (1)0 +-5-10 you can probably lift a knife...
It should take the entire team to take down a human most of the time. DM's have to control the environment a bit, wieght is a major issue here and everything should be oversized by default (akin to SM using human guns). So besides that initial grot gun forget about bolters etc.
*has just realised that Kobalds Ate My Baby! might be fun for a Gretchin-only game, and "Grots Ate Me Squig!" has a nice ring to it...*
Sounds like the old game of 'Paranoia' to me!

My point was the rules of an Ork PC don't fit the description of a gretchin. Really, you'd be better off using DH and subbing in a few talents as elite advances.
In-universe, it would make no sense whatsoever to make it an addition to the Ork Freebooter career, since full-sized orks simply cannot devolve into gretchin. No GM with ANY knowledge of the Warhammer 40,000 universe would allow it as an extension.
And plus, it would completely contradict Ork culture and Psychology. Gretchins know their place for the most part, and that is at the very bottom. One rising up to be a Freebooter above all other Orks is compeltely absurd. The only way that someone would be able to play a Grot even half worthy of being a PC would be to be a Rebel Grot. Other than that, it's a big no.
most of you seam to miss the point where he said for fun... he was far from askin for a full detailed experiment....
