Outfitting Ships after Chargen

By Mystrunner, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

Hello!

My players have managed to recover the remains of a raider, and are looking to make repairs on the thing... problem being, acquisition rules don't seem to have much in the way of how to purchase components and so forth. Anyone have any house rules on this?

-Edit-

Nevermind, page 274... just missed it.

I had my players first find and get in the good graces of a magos or other AdMech authority figure, then determined which components where broken (they had to aquire those normally). One of them they had to have scavenged.

Next they had to wait for the actual refitting, which took about 2 years (8 game sessiosn due to the length of time involved in warp travel).

Finally they had to figure out how to crew it. They could hire directly off footfall for an incompetant crew, or if they really paid well a competant crew, but to get anything better they were going to have to search around, perhaps heading back into imperial space.

In short, aquiring a second ship was quite an endevor in and of itself. Now that they have the contacts the third will be much easier. Once they have enough influence I will allow them to simply purchase the ships (something like 50 for a raider, 80 for a frigate, 120 for a cruiser).

Of course I expect them to have started a true crusade at that point. :)

See, I like this. I might lower the number of sessions it'll take for the ship to be outfitted, as my group doesn't meet very often, but it definitely should be an involved process.
