Has anyone written up stats for old imperial i.e. chaos, vessels?
Using Chaos Cruisers for an RT Vessel
There are a couple on the Dark Reign site.
BuckX on the Dark Reign site had stats for Imperial, Choas and Space Marine vessels of all the types in the original BFG game plus a bunch that were later added, including Forgeworld models. It would actually be logical for a Rogue Trader to be able to get a vessel like that because most of them are older Imperial designs, not to mention the myriad of hulks and pirate vessels descending from that stock...
my thoughts exactly.
There is a Murder class cruiser written up in Edge of the Abyss if you want official stats.
For unofficial, I did a write up that converted all the Battlefleet Gothic ships to Rogue Trader format. It's a little out of date now though - doesn't include info from Into the Storm or Edge of the Abyss. I uploaded it to these forums once, but don't see it now. Let me see if I can find the .pdf somewhere...
Alternatively, BuckX did both Chaos and Imperial ships and posted them to Dark Reign.
Cheers,
- V.

Apparently they were; or at least that's how they are referred to in the Chaos section of the BFG rule book. They mention their history in Imperial service using Murder as the class name; there is no other name is given for them there.

I read somewhere that there was a supplement for loyalist reserve fleets with at least one different name ("Repulse" instead of "Repulsive" Grand Cruiser), however, I can't find it on the GW website. I can't find the rules for Rogue Traders there either....
Edit: Okay, I just found the rules hidden in "Imperial Fleets" but absolutely nothing about different names for the ships, so no idea where that originated...
Repulse was a fan design iirc.
The Rogue Trader rules for BFG are being reworked, draft 2010 available here:
(also drafts for FAQ2010 (final), Eldar refits/Haven (final), Space Marines (more or less final), Tau Kor'or'vesh (more or less final)).

Good stuff!
Heh, thanks, I love the new rules for venerable battle barges. And it's great to have rules for Rogue Traders again.
