The size of the boards

By Spider76, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hello,

I am going to buy a table that will be used to play all of my boardgames on.

I think that AH (which is my favorite) with all of it's expansions will demand the largest space.

Does anyone have the actual sizes of the base game with all of the expansions ? (also allowing room for the bazillion chits and cards around the boards gui%C3%B1o.gif )

Thanks on advance

I haven't done any precise measurement, but each expansion board is 1/3 of the main Arkham board.

E.g. Look at the Arkham board: The board segment with the Northside, Eastown and Downtown neighborhoods+ only the picture of the Unvisited Isle without the name/text bit=this is the size of each expansion board.

So if i have all of the expansions, I understand from you that it will be twice the length as the original board (but same width) ?

Yep, that's right. If you put the three expansion boards together they'll be equal in size to the main Arkham board.But you don't have to play with all boards. You can play with the main board+ one expansion board at a time(And it's better this way since otherwise, gameplay mechanics of all the boards tend to pile up and it may prove difficult to keep track of everything). This way you'll also get to experience each expansion individually with all its perils and benefits.

I prefer this setup myself (though still no KH of course):

If table length is an issue, that setup only adds 1/3 for it.

Is the color of the main board a regional thing or is that the new edition? Mine is dark, but all the expansion boards are brightly colored.

1st edition has the dark board, revised (2nd ed) has the lighter board. At least that's how I think the editions go.

Thanks all for the help aplauso.gif

The reason i am calculating it to 2*original board is because i am taking it to the maximum size, this way i will able to play everything on it.

A square is 28x28 centimeters.

Main board is 2x3 square.

Expansion board is 1x2 square.

So, you have 2 configurations:

- 2x6 square => 56 centimeters width and 168 centimeters length.

- 3x4 square => 84 centimeters width and 112 centimeters length.

Obviously, you still need place for investigators sheets and stuff, and for the different decks or tokens.

Thanks alot Hugues,

i think the best solution (also for other games from FFG) will be a table of aprox 1*2 meters.

This will grant me enogh space for the chits and char cards too.
