Ogre Cheif and the Cell of the Dungeon

By MishaMonster, in Talisman Rules Questions

If the Ogre Cheif has monsters "thralled" and hits the cell, are they considered followers?

If so, does the next player in the cell get to take the monster as a thrall/follower?

On the Ogre character card it says take as follower.

Asking because Ogre landed on Cell, had 2 thralled monsters and the Unicorn.

I said it had to be the unicorn as it makes no sense for next character in Cell to take Spider as follower.

Thoughts?

For the OC, those monsters count as Followers. Official party (FFG) line is that when you ditch a non-normal Follower, it gets discarded, so it wouldn't go on the Cell space in any case.

So OC is allowed to dump the thrall creature, but it gets discarded - or he cannot use the follower as it is not universal follower?

In our case, he should have HAD to leave the unicorn?

OC can choose to dump his monster instead of putting the unicorn in the cell

The monster is then discarded.

I disagree. if the special follower is unable to be "jailed" because it would be discarded instead, then it doesn't count for the cell (because, basically, this would defeat the purpose of the Cell space itself) .

This is just my interpretation: special followers are immune to the Cell.

I agree with Cynewulf. happy.gif

I have sent a message to John Goodenough for this answer, but i expect the same answer as Dam already said in this topic gui%C3%B1o.gif

Same goes for the minstrel if he ditch enemy animal followers, then they will be discarded..

Either way the Cell has its desired effect. Which is to deprive a player of a follower.

I got a quick answer today from John Goodenough about the Ogre chieftain monster followers and the cell space.

Q: If the Ogre Chieftain lands on the cell space, can he choose to put a monster(enemy follower) in the cell?

A: Yes.

What happens then? must it be discarded or is this not possible.

A: The card is discarded.
