Have you ever had a cool fight or even just a turn that went well? TELL US ABOUT IT! I like hearing about cool stuff that happens in groups.
Just to get us started:
So my group just started playing an amalgam of DH, RT, and DW. Some Inquisitors were doing Imperium business in a small outpost on a desert planet. At the same time, a Rogue Trader was conducting some... questionable transactions at the same outpost when suddenly the sky blacked out and tyranids launched a planet-wide attack. Meanwhile, a battle barge filled with space marines on their way to train and join the Deathwatch received several distress calls from the planet and sent out all their Kill-teams to anywhere that wasn't completely overrun with 'Nids. My Kill-team was sent out to the same outpost as the Inquisitors and the Rogue Trader. Hordes, Warriors and Termagants assaulted the base. When most of the Xenos scum was destroyed, a gunship finally showed up to extract any survivors when suddenly a group of gene-stealers burrowed out of the ground. Nothing we couldn't deal with. Then we heard a horrible screaming sound from beyond the wall and a great pounding upon the barricaded door of the outpost. The human characters turned and looked in horror as a Carnifex ripped the door from it's extra-armored hinges. The Sister of Battle turned her flamer upon the gene-stealers and destroyed all but one of them. In one swift movement, I (a Space Wolf Iron Priest) turned to face the Carnifex, let loose a hail of heavy bolter fire on it while my Servo-Arm wretched behind me and crushed the head of the gene-stealer. The Dark Angel Librarian charged the Carnifex and missed with a swing of his power sword as the Carnifex counter-attacked and ripped the Librarian in half and threw him aside. Seeing his Battle-Brother cleaved in twain, the Assault Marine, also a Space Wolf, ignited his jump pack, launching himself over the wall of the outpost while I, the Sister of Battle and an Imperial Fist Apothecary laid down suppressing fire upon the Carnifex. Sudden, from the gunship, a blast of psy-power from one of the Inquisitors rocked the Carnifex, stunning him and allowing the Assault Marine time to grab our fallen Battle-Brother and jump pack to the gunship. With our fellow marine safely aboard the escape ship, the rest of our Kill-team and the Sister of Battle boarded the ship and rocketed into orbit as the Carnifex regained consciousness. Breaking the planet's atmosphere, the group found the marine's battle barge being ripped in half by a planet sized tyranid. Searching the space battle for a sign of any working ship, the group spotted a mining vessel heading away from the battle. We hailed the ship, but were met only with contempt and disrespect even after they were made aware of the Inquisitor's presence and were threatened with excommunication. Seeing as it was the only ship we found that was still working, we decided to blast our way into the ship's docking bay and have a chat with the heretics who didn't see fit to help the Imperium.
I think it was a fun first night.
