Ascension. Recommendations for Melee Assasin

By Obsidian Razor, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Hello everyone.

The Dark Heresy campaing I'm playing right now has just hit Ascension and I'm not sure of what route to follow.

My character is a feral-world assasin that started out as a hunter and was taken into the Inquisitors retinue as a stealth and melee expert, he's rather silent and calculating as a general idea, but brutal in and all out fight (specially lately with that nice power first... mmhh...)

So now I have to choose my new path and I'm in doubt of what to pick... Death Cult assasin seems to be the most stealth+melee focused class but the mindset doesn't really marry well with my current character.

Vindicare seems a good choice, but is it too ranged weapon focused? The board game would seem to indicate so, but in fluff assasins tend to be more generally effective...

I've not really contemplated the other classes, but maybe they could fit (I did check Paladin, but it somewhat deviates from what I had in mind).

What would be your suggestions?

Thanks!

Crusader (ask your GM) or Death Cult Assassin

I'd go with DC Assassin, with the caveat that your GM lets you go with a cult that isn't as mindlessly crazy as described in the book. I think it's very lame for assassins to be forced to either play a blood-crazed maniac or....a brainwashed maniac, so giving some leeway is important.

There is also the fact that DCA is just a much more fun class than Crusader, which is pretty dull.

Impression I got from Ascension is that there's enough variety among the multitude of Death Cults in the imperium that you should be able to tailor one to suit your character's personality.
