So, Tokhuah printed out his regular (can we say that now ? ) pre-AP release Card Spoiler Write-Up in General Discussion. I urge all to take a look at it, if you haven't already ! Anyways...one card that caught my eye was the sinister Old One, Yig....the Father of Serpents.
He has the (apparently standard from what we have seen of other Serpent characters in this cycle)....ability to switch some of his Icons for others, effectively transforming his card from what it is initially (Terror, Terror, Terror, Arcane) - into some other combo.
Most of the lesser serpents (Degenerate Cultist or Brood of Yig, for example) have to pay for this ability to be used...usually 1-per change you wish to have happen. In Yig's case...it's simply "Action: Change 1 of Yig's Terror Icons into Combat-Combat-Arcane, until the end of the phase."
This means that Yig could effectively have 6-Combat, 4-Arcane - if you transformed all of his starting Terror icons.
BUT...my question is...let's say you had the old Core Set favorite "Tcho-Tcho Talisman" - a 1-cost Neutral Support / Attachment that says,
" Attach to a character you control. Attached character gains (Terror, Terror). Response : After Tcho-Tcho Talisman is placed into any discard pile from play, pay 1 to return it to its owner's hand."
------
So, if you attached this to Yig...he would effectively have 5-Terror Icons, by default...instead of his usual 3....would he then be allowed to utilize his ability to transform his additional Terror icons as well ? I would assume yes - since there is nothing on his card that would imply otherwise...no ? - but I thought I'd mention it here first.
The potential for this kind of boosting on Yig is considerable. With 5-Icons in play, you'd effectively have the ability to give him an absolutely Ludicrous total of 10-Combat Icons and 6-Arcane !!!
