So, your GM has had you draw career cards. Which career would least appeal to you?
(for me it would be Troll Slayer..just too one-trick-pony for me)

On the non-heroic side, I think I'd choose gambler or mystic as my least favorite.

Any elf-only class. Never got into playing them. Other than that: Probably Bailiff. I've just never been able to visalize the Bailiff as anything but an NPC character. My head seems to refuse to envision the career as an adventurer. I have much the same problem with Agitator, but of the two, I'd choose to play the Agitator over the Bailiff.
I'm still trying to figure out the difference between an agent and a Bailiff. It seems that the Bailiff would be an intermediate career to agent (basic).

The way I've seen it (and played my Agent) is that the Bailiff is an "official" position, and the Agent isn't. Kind of an on-the-books vs. off-the-books kind of thing.
priest(ess) of shallya.
But that's more because I have played the healer for years and years.
Other than that, Elf-only careers, for the same reason as Ralzar.
Anything else, I can see being fun actually.
Even commoner has it's appeal, since there you're pretty much completely free to do anything (inside the bronze tier of course
)

True. The Agent is a much more naturally slanted towards traveling around doing missions and solving problems.
My problem with the Bailiff is that to me, he's a fixture. He's defined by the position he fills in the powerstructure of whatever town or city he's in. The only character that comes to mind when thinking of Bailiffs is The Sheriff Of Nottingham, who I can't really envision doing aynthing other than trying to run things in Nottingham.
Granted, you could say this about a bunch of careers but somehow it's just stronger with the Bailiff. Because most of the other careers are either just peons in the power structure, so no one really cares all that much if they go do something else (watchman or servant for example), or they're pretty much their own man, like the merchant or burgher. The Bailiff is employed to more or less run everything in a household or town, he can't just up and leave without a pretty good reason.
And yeah Nisses, I'd love to play a Commoner at some point actually. I can see a lot of fun in playing a farmer/labourer who gets mixed up in adventures.
A Bailiff would be useful in a town or province based campaign, where his knowledge of the people and the area could be quite useful. Combine him with the Burgher, Dilettante, and Student or Gambler and your party would be a powerhouse of social influence.
Ultimately it depends upon what your campaign is going to be like. I could see having fun with any of the above careers. (though I am partial to Dilettante and Gambler) I think I would least like to play the Envoy, as the career really paints you into a corner rp wise and there is only so many ways to play the part. Mind you, there is certainly room for variety, it is merely too defined a role for my tastes.
