how many shots per round with a miu weapon interface?

By ! : ?, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

the new eratta states on p. 8 that: "Also note that an Explorer using an MIU is still subject to the one action with the “attack” subtype per round rule." doesn't that make this bionic quite superfluous if you have a gun in your hand? is this intentional? is it simply impossible in the game to shoot more than one weapon in a round (excluding the "ballistic mechandrite" reaction shot) ?

The point of the MIU is that you can fire a weapon as a free action, meaning you have your full action (or two half actions) to do other things, as well as keeping your hands free for other things. Most characters shown with MIU w/ pistols on their shoulder are either carrying nothing in their hands, or melee weapons.

With the right talents, you can shoot with more than one gun at once, but no, you can't shoot with the same gun more than once per round, and this is intentional.

i wasn't aiming at shooting the "same" gun twice,,,, what i mean is, i can shoot with my MIU n then run up and stab a guy, but i can't shoot with the MIU and then fire my handgun!? seems silly,, and yeah i know you can use the "two weapon wielder" talent but isn't that just a talent for people who can't afford decent bionics :) ?

Actually, you can only use one "combat action" per round, which covers both melee and ranged attacks, so you wouldn't be able to charge into melee after firing your MIU weapon.

The MIU is basically just to keep your hands free and make it so your ranged attack with the MIU doesn't take up any of your actions.

tjeck!,,, just seems, underpowered! thanx!

You can also do things like fire weapons while not actually being at the same location as them, which can by handy. Or spend your entire round on the Aim action and then fire a weapon full-auto.

Or the favorite of the tech priest in my group. Take a full move and fire full auto.

If the mounted weapon is Accurate, then taking Aim actions followed by a Free to fire is a great trick.

two shoulder = two miu weapons= two free shots?

One MIU = one attack action.

Nope, you can only carry out one attack action per turn, so the only benefit to having two MIU weapons would be you could choose from either one for your attack, and whichever one you picked would be a free action to attack with.

You could also conceivably link the two mounted weapons, operating them both as a single weapon with the Twin-linked quality added.
